Back pain
If a spinal nerve is compressed and its function is impaired, it can lead to burning, tingling, tension, or severe pain.
The primary cause of back pain is often weak back and abdominal muscles, coupled with insufficient movement and poor posture. Back pain is typically harmless and often resolves spontaneously within a few days without treatment. For this reason, many individuals do not consult a doctor for brief episodes of back pain.
Chronic back pain
Chronic back pain is frequently linked to degenerative processes, with the most common causes being herniated discs, spinal canal sten, or synovial cysts in the spinal canal. Here, the source of pain originates from an irritated nerve root.
Treatment
Pain from spinal disorders should primarily be treated with anti-inflammatory medications along with physical therapy. However, many cases of degenerative changes in the spine due to herniated discs or spinal canal narrowing, prompt surgery may be required. Urgent neuro-surgical evaluation is recommended, especially in the presence of serious neurological deficits such as muscle paralysis, urinary issues, or bowel dysfunction.
